Period underwear is not designed for swimming; it doesn’t have the right fabrics. Swimming in period panties would be just as unpleasant as swimming in regular underwear.
Caring for your menstrual bikini bottom
Just like period underwear, period bikini bottoms are easy to care for. By following the steps below, you’ll keep your bikini in great condition and be able to wear it for many years:
After your swim or when you get back from the beach, make it a habit to rinse it in clear water to remove blood as well as any sand, salt or chlorine residue.
Avoid using rich soaps or other harsh household products when rinsing. They can prematurely damage your swimsuit.
Then pop your swimsuit in the washing machine with the rest of your clothes, preferably on a short cycle at no more than 30°C. High temperatures can damage the performance of the absorbent layer.
