Can period panties be reimbursed?
You may have heard about this really interesting government reform: free washable period products for under-26s, including reimbursement for period underwear bought in pharmacies. Unfortunately, this reform was never passed. It stayed at the proposal stage and for now (first quarter of 2026), the project has been shelved. There is no national health insurance reimbursement for period underwear. However, ask your top-up health insurer. Some complementary health plans cover one or more period products per year (depending on your contract). Don’t hesitate to ask your insurance agent for details.
